Physical Description:
Gutter dyes his hair anime blue and wears yellow contacts. He wants an unforgettable look to burn himself into the mind of everyone who lays eyes on him. His hair and eyes are naturally brown. That’s no way for a hero to look!!
He’s tall, lanky and is a twink with a flat ass. He would love to be a cool strong guy but doesn’t eat enough protein to get there.
Personality:
Wow look at that anime protagonist go. Headstrong, attention hogging, loves to hear himself talk and acts like 12 year old boy on purpose. Gutter loves nothing more than to pick a fight with the strongest person in the room and keep coming back for more after they repeatedly kick his ass. A brat with an ego that will suffocate anyone else in the room.
He calls out all his attacks by name and wants to be a great hero! Heroes are loved and adored and legendary! Adventuring and helping people is his dream come true. Being the warrior of light is the best thing that coulda happened to him!!!!!!!!!! This is a main character right here.
A core part of him is that yeah he’s super annoying, but, he chooses to act like that. Gutter’s best traits are how clever and hardworking he is. He’s not naturally talented, his body is weak, but he works 100x harder.. He wants to come off as an effortless cocky hero, someone reliable and that you can believe in. Not the truth of being a asthmatic nerd who spends hours in the training grounds to be mediocre with a sword.
If you can manage to put up with his antics long enough for him to tire himself out, you’re left with a boy who is desperately trying to cement himself in everyones’ mind to not be forgotten. He’s got crippling abandonment issues that he makes everyone else’s problem. It’s easier to get negative attention than positive affection.

Backstory: a brief history of gutter cross
His birth parents abandoned him when a monster came rampaging through their town. Joaquin showed up to kill it as a good adventurer and ended up helping these poor kids to an oprhanage. He went and checked on them a few times before 8 year old gutter told him to stop coming by because he didn't want to keep getting his hopes up. anyways joaquin adopted gutter and giddy then and there and has been an amazing father ever since.
Joaquin trained gutter alongside Theodore (teddy) since they were kids. Teddy is a big strong paladin and when paired with Gutter made an absolutely perfect team. Gutter is a little bitch tho and will only ever refer to big strong paladin Teddy as his "Rival" and won't even acknowledge that they are BY FAR the most important people to each other.
Anyways Gutter wants to be a big hero more than anything to prove to his dad that he has earned the kindness joaquin has extended to him and that he doesn't need Teddy backing him up.
RELATIONSHIPS
alphinaud + alisaie: those are his little siblings. Gutter is just a big brother figure and he proudly calls them his little brother and sister. They aren’t sure if he is joking or not.
Yshtola: that’s bestie. Knows Gutter the best. Doesn’t let him lie to her face about sneaking out at night and training. She’s the one who sat with him through every breakdown. He doesn’t let anyone else see him as anything other than a Great Hero with the worst Ego you’ve ever met.

Urianger: they used to be cool but now he’s hanging out with thancred too much.
G’raha: little bro-zoned. G’raha being in love with him is weird. They get along well enough but G’raha is just no someone Gutter is romantically interested in at all. He really cares about him, but damn it is awkward sometimes when G’raha says the most romantic shit ever that Gutter doesn’t want to hear from him.
Estinien: Gutter likes to hide in the rafters and jump him. They get along great. The only member of the scions that ignores Gutter’s bravado and makes the effort to check in on him when he’s at his most annoying. They’re good friends but do not spend a lot of time just the two of them.
ardbert: well gutter is just completely in love with this guy. ardbert promised him everything he dreamed of and technically never broke those promises. he’s a yearning mess on the precipise of saying fuck it and ripping his soul apart to bring him back.

Unnamed. I never gave Gutter a birth name, and I once thought “Wow what if Gutter’s Azem’s name was his birth name” and that just stopped me in my tracks.
He is basically Gutter again, but more self assured and isn’t constantly trying to “fix” his abandonment issues.
